Relaxing in San Antonio

Back here in San Antonio and, after such a disaster of a train ride I had earlier, I’ve decided to have some time to myself and just relax. The first thing I knew I had to do was grab a Bloody Mary at a riverwalk breakfast bar and watch the San Antonio news (I always like catching up on local current events!). I had a delicious fruit salad and a small wheat English Muffin and before long I was completely calm and in an awesome relaxed state of mind.

Surprisingly, the San Antonio news kept going on and on about their recent NBA win. It wasn’t too long before I had to switch to something else, so I grabbed a table outside and pulled out my Kindle to do some reading. The weather wasn’t too bad for being the start of the Texas summer and I found myself sitting outside letting the world pass me by for almost 3 whole hours!

I decided to do some walking and found shop after shop full of some pretty cool gifts and trinkets. Definitely some really funky San Antonio stuff!

After a great breakfast, some reading, and walking around for a bit, I was finally feeling back to my old self. The only thing that could make things a little better is a nice run around the city!

If you haven’t picked up on this already, I’m a huge runner. One of my favorite parts of this gig is that I get to visit the country and the world, and what better to explore the cities I’m in than a nice long run? I’ve always found it is a great way to meet people, find restaurants and bars, and just get a feel of the overall city. You’d be surprised how much you can learn on even just a thirty minute run!

Anyway, it feels good to finally be in a better place of mind since my awful train experience. Never doing that again, I can tell you that much! I’ll probably just spend the night hanging out in my hotel room and listening to music. Heck, I’m even thinking of taking a bubble bath! Sometimes you just have to take advantage of all the amenities a hotel offers!

If anyone has some good ideas for places to go at night in San Antonio let me know! I only have a day or two left here and want to make the most of it!
