While the rest of Washington D.C. (or at least the White House) was celebrating the success of the Affordable Care Act, I was celebrating my successful shopping spree in Georgetown.

At first I visited the cobblestone streets to pick up a knick knack for my mother but my instincts for a great sale were piqued. There were several locally owned boutiques so I could get away from the chains that litter Capitol Hill.
I grabbed some new shoes from this wonderful little shoe store called Hu’s Shoes. While most of the pumps were upwards of $1,000 but I found a beautiful pair of wedges that I will not reveal the price off.
Needless to say my pocketbook will not be too happy with me, but hey a girl needs to spoil herself every once in a while.
The rest of the shopping spree was decidedly less expensive. I went to this great jewelry shop called Charm. I grabbed some Charm bracelets for the girls from the airport.
Finally, I ended up at this thrift shop that I have been to in different cities in the world. It’s called Buffalo Exchange and it’s basically like any secondhand store but with a bit higher standards. I grabbed a couple blouses and even found an old Pat Benatar t-shirt from one of her tours in the late 80’s.
I ended the night by grabbing some dinner with a guy I met at the bars last night. I don’t typically go on dates but he was persistent and seemed nice enough.
We went to a restaurant called Cannon Seafood and I ordered the Scallops. Alas, the date was not love at first sight but he was a gentleman and wasn’t too pushy.
You’d be surprised what ideas people get when they hear that you are a flight attendant!
