While I’ve been home enjoying my time with my family and friends, I’ve especially been enjoying this awesome Houston weather. Every time I come home I’m always reminded what awesome weather we get out here. Some people might say it’s too humid during the summer, but I think those people just need to get used to it!

Since Father’s Day is right around the corner (and mom’s birthday!), Molly and I decided to hit up one of our favorite places to go shopping: The Rice Village! Located near Rice University, Rice Village (most of the time we just call it The Village) is packed with some of my favorite shops, bars, and restaurants. I’ve been coming to this place since I was in diapers so I knew Molly and I would find something for mom and dad.
After a few hours of shopping, we decided to take a pit stop and grab some cocktails to catch up. With my job, it’s hard for me to stay in contact with Molly and, since we’re so close in age, I feel like I’m missing more than just my sister… I’m missing one of my best friends.
Molly and I ate and drank for almost two hours before we realized what time it was! She told me about the boy she’s been seeing and the new friends she’s making. She really seems to be growing into a mature young lady! I couldn’t be more proud. We wrapped up on lunch and headed back home.
When we got outside, we could hear the thunder rolling in from the distance. I got some goose pimples just thinking about, again, this incredible Houston weather. Texas is a great place to live, and I wouldn’t trade the world to live anywhere other than Houston.
On the way home, Molly and I did one of our favorite things to do together — sing! Anything on the radio is fair game. Molly and I can sing almost anything (or at least try to!). I, of course, have always been a huge country fan, while Molly has always enjoyed listening to hip hop and rap. I don’t mind it, but sometimes I just can’t keep up with her! She’s too good.
When we got home, we had to run up to Molly’s room as fast as we could to hide our gifts from our presents, who were more than curious to see what we purchased today!
