I’ve been enjoying my time contributing to this budget travel blog. It’s always been a dream of mine to travel to England and being able to document it for L&T just takes the whole thing a step further. Occasionally when I find the will to write something, I have the opportunity to share it with all of you. This has been an absolute pleasure.
London so far has taught me a lot, I picked up on a lot of things that I never noticed about myself and other Americans. For instance, I can pick out an American pretty much right away, a lot of times they’re very chatty or loud, which is sort of frowned upon here.
I like that, personally, I’m not a super outspoken person, and I hate anything too boisterous. It’s really interesting here though, how people are more accepting of progressive thought, atheism, and more “liberal” ideas. In fact, a lot of what America considers liberal is just commonplace in England, I’ve found.
Budget Travel Blog & Culture
I know I mentioned in the last post about all the different cultures and ideologies found here, but it’s really just fascinating to see.
When I went to the Science Museum, I got a behind-the-scenes tour—I guess I was at the right place at the right time? Anyway, besides it being really awesome, the tour guide kept talking about evolution in a very matter-of-fact way, which was kind of crazy to me.
It was not a “maybe” this happened—it was way more definitive. The US is not all aboard the science train, which is kind of sad, because here, it’s more of an important issue. I think even the religious people here have accepted a more scientific-based approach to things, unlike the crazy fanatics that we have back home.
