Summer may be over, but many of the design trends that were brought to life during the warmer months still live on in many homes much like mine. Before fully conquering another season, I want to reflect on some of my favorite summer design trends you won’t want to miss out on.
The Ode to Adventure
The wanderlust trend is a trend I can get on board with. Last summer seemed to be all about romanticized road trips, travels and exploration of as much of the world as one can handle. And I don’t see this as a passing fad. So as a reminder of my desire to get out and adventure, I bought in to the design trend of world maps, inspiring travel quotes and passport stamps.
Bold Color
Bold colors were back and bigger than ever this summer. You could even find a tasteful amount of wallpaper in the trendiest of homes. The pops of color and splashes of bold patterns is a tend that I hope sticks around. And it’s so easy to add some excitement to a neutrally colored room. Some accent pillows, curtains and a rug will spruce a boring room right up.
Two Toned Kitchen Cabinets
I love design shows as much as the next woman, and this summer I noticed one major trend happening in everyone’s kitchen renovation: two toned kitchen cabinets. Light upper cabinets and dark lower cabinets seem to be the new modern home era. So if you’re wanting to do a kitchen renovation this is a trend you should seriously consider. I love this trend because it gives a kitchen so much depth, and instead of trying to have to decide on one shade of wood you get to choose two!
I love to find the latest home trends like these ones on the Cadence website. It’s never in short supply of inspiration.
