Sedona Arizona is a special place; it’s certainly not everyone’s cup of tea, though. Be prepared for breath-taking landscapes of red rocks and clear skies, small town aesthetics, and a gaggle of pony-tail donning baby boomers at every glance. Sedona is said to be located inside of a vortex, which is a sort of spiritual center that can apparently stay with you a few days after you leave Sedona.
If you haven’t already guessed it, people are really into crystals, chakras, yoga, organic everything, and really ugly clothes up there. Which isn’t really surprising, it’s super expensive to live there, and the whole vortex thing makes people get all kinds of jazzed up about that kind of lifestyle.
If you’re into hiking, do go though, you don’t really need to hang around town for that long if you’re on one of the many beautiful trails. I personally like Devil’s Bridge and the Seven Sacred Ponds trails (yes, there are literally little ponds, which are super cool). You just need to purchase a $5 Red Rock pass to park your car, and you’re able to go on any trail.
If you’re not so much athletic, or are unable to hike, there are plenty of things to do as well. Here is a list of some of the things you can do while in Sedona:

The Egg/Dome House! Okay, this is not technically in Sedona, but, it’s on the way, and more often than not you can go take a tour (you have to cough up a couple of dollars, but it’s a really cool house). I totally want one of these space looking things, and I’m sure the girls who give the tour are going to be more than happy to try and sell you on the idea.
Tlaquepaque, also referred to as “to lock your pocket” this little labyrinth of stores and restaurants looks straight out of Italy. Most of the stores are things a mid-20-something wouldn’t really care about (glass vases, old lady clothes, ridiculously priced Christmas ornaments) but it’s still a place I always go to when I’m there. It’s really beautiful to just walk around, or grab a bite at one of the eateries, at night the lights come on and it gets super romantic, if you’re with a significant other.
Crystal Shops. Hey sometimes you just want to look at pretty rocks, and maybe make a necklace, right? Also a prime people watching activity, you won’t have to look very far to find one of these gem shop clones.
If you are ever in the Southwest you have to visit Sedona Arizona
