After my trip to Hilo, I found it pretty amazing how we hardly get ANY rain here in Kona. The entire time I was in Hilo it was practically raining. The entire time I’ve been in Kona it’s been sunny. We get the occasional rain clouds over head with a few drops here and there — until today! Early into the work day, I was in the coffee field doing my normal hacking when the clouds appeared.
I could see them coming from over the mountain and didn’t think much of it. It was nice to be out of the sun for while, but before I knew it the Hawaii rain started to pour. And it came down! I heard Kris telling me to head back to the shack until the rain cleared up. Well, it’s been about 3 hours and there’s no stopping in sight.
UPDATE: It’s now been 6 hours since it’s started to rain! I definitely won’t be getting back to work today. What a great day off! I’ll just be sitting, reading and enjoying the rain. Paradise. Hawaii rain is one of those magical things you can just sit back and enjoy for hours.
