I am always looking for great beach cities to visit for the weekend. One of my favorites is Key West, Florida. Florida is home to a lot of great cities. But Key West has to be one of the best.
There are some amazing hotels nearby to stay at that will blow your mind. You don’t have to travel out of the country to have a weekend in paradise. The Mermaid and the Alligator has to be one of the coolest places. It is an old early 1900s Victorian home that is now a bed and breakfast. Every morning guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast right next to the pool before heading out to the beach.
While in Key West, it is a must to find authentic Cuban food to put you in the mood. El Siboney is a great place to find this. This is a hit for locals, so you know it is good. It is the go to place for a yummy Cuban mix sandwich for lunch. Just be prepared for the place to be busy, it is that good!
Of course there is tons to do in Key West besides lounge at the beach. The Hemingway House and Museum has to be one of the coolest places to visit. Hemingway was a beloved author and guests are welcome to tour the house he lived and wrote at for more than 10 years.
After dark is when the party gets started in Key West. It is known to have an amazing nightlife, for locals and visitors. You can go salsa dancing and mingle with out tourists and even the locals.
