India and the US see a lot of common cars every year. However, as every year passes by, the number of cars common between India and the US is on a decrease. There are a lot of cars which were launched in India and the US at the same time but they are still up and running in the US but discontinued in India. The major reason for this is the extra price that Indian customers have to pay. Thus, they prefer Indian origin cars rather than the ones that are manufactured outside of India.
Hyundai Santa Fe
Hyundai launched this SUV for the upper segment of the society that was willing to invest in the SUVs priced between 20 lacs to 30 lacs. However, the exterior of the car and the interiors failed to impress the Indian market. The car engine was rated at 2199 cc which is quite powerful compared to the other cars in the segment. It also gave a decent fuel economy of 14.4 kmpl. It was available with two different transmissions. The trims could be purchased with an automatic or manual transmission. The storage was not a problem either. It featured a trunk with a capacity of 382 liters.
Ford Fiesta
Ford launched this car in two different variants. The people could buy a 3 to 5 door hatchback or the other variant which was a conventional 4 door sedan. The car was not priced at a high rate but at the same time, had a good fuel economy, active safety features, and the interiors are well-designed too. The fuel economy of the car was rated at 24.4 kmpl which is good for the Indian roads. It could produce the power of 89.75 BHP which featured an engine of 1499 cc. There is only one option available in terms of transmission, that is, the manual transmission.
Chevrolet Cruze
With a powerful engine and a hefty price tag, the car was not affordable for the people. It was neither a luxury sedan nor a regular commuter. It was stuck in between. It featured an engine of 1899 cc which is much more than the average engine capacity of the sedans in the segment. It also had an up-to-date infotainment system with an amazing fuel economy to assist. However, it lacked the acceleration power and engine deactivation system. The new version of Cruze is available only in an automatic transmission. There are minor changes in the exterior looks and a hatchback variant is also available.
Volkswagen Jetta
Jetta was discontinued in India due to the lack of the customers and thefffir interest in the upcoming models too. However, the people in the US and the other countries still prefer Jetta as a sedan for daily use. The new Volkswagen Jetta has a good fuel economy, offers spacious sitting and luxurious and comfortable interiors of the cabin. The car offers a smooth ride which is complemented by the all-day-long supportive seats which do not make you tired. The infotainment system is also easy to use but when compared to the rivals, the car is a bit behind.
2019 Volkswagen Price Starts at $18,545, the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta has quite a lot to offer.
Volkswagen Beetle
Volkswagen does not have a very strong market in India. Only cars such as Vento, Ameo, and Passat have lasted longer than the other Volkswagen cars. Beetle had a very innovative design which was based on the concept of no sharp ends in the whole car. However, it was not entertained in India. The main reason being, the car had a high price tag. It came with an average of 17.89 kmpl and an automatic transmission. The car was priced at 30 lacs which is a very high price when compared to the other 4-seater cars in India.
