When it comes to sushi, the better the quality, the better the taste. You can find sushi at a lot of places now days, but these top three spots in the country are known to have the absolute freshest and best sushi around.
Masa, New York City
Sushi god Masa Takayama started Masa in New York City. The chef is known to be extremely calm, precise and only works with the best raw fish available. This place is so popular that if you do not cancel your reservation in 48 hours, there will be a charge of $200 per person! But Masa is definitely worth the bill of around $450 per person. The best choices on the menu include the toro stuffed maki rolls, fugu sashimi, caviar and pretty much any dish that contains fish.
Urasawa, Los Angeles
The sushi bar at Urasawa in Los Angeles only holds ten people and with it being right off of Rodeo Drive, this place makes it hard to find a seat. Chef Hiroyuki Urasawa actually trained under the mastermind behind Masa, so some have even said this is the West Coast version of Masa. The menu changes daily, but there are always plenty of options. Urasawa will cost you a pretty penny with each person costing a little under $400 dollars.
Nobu, Las Vegas
Nobu Matsuhisa has two restaurants in Las Vegas. You can find the original Nobu at the Hard Rock Hotel, but the newer one inside Caesar’s Palace is out of this world. David Rockwell designed the restaurants and the ambience is just as great as the food. Some of the best choices on the menu include rock shrimp tempura, yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno, black cod miso and a ton of other selections of delicious sushi. The chef is always creative when displaying his sushi and the presentation is just as spectacular as the taste.
