The Philadelphia Museum of Art is opening the much anticipated exhibit, “Discovering the Impressionists: Paul Durand-Ruel and the New Painting” on June 24th. The museum has paired up with several Philadelphia hotels for a great offer, but hurry, the offer won’t be around forever.
Fifteen Philadelphia hotels including the Alexander Inn, Hotel Sofitel Philly and the Courtyard Philly Downtown are offering tickets to the exhibit when you rent a room. The tickets are worth $30 dollars and when you book a room at one of the fifteen hotels, you will receive two tickets. There is usually a time limit at the exhibit, but the tickets being offered through the hotels have no time restrictions.

The new exhibit is open until September 13th and focuses on Paul Durand-Ruel, an art dealer from Paris. Duran-Ruel inspired many Impressionism artists. The Impressionism movement was not very popular back in the day. Most dealers and collectors did not embrace this style of art, except Durand-Ruel.
Durand-Ruel encouraged famous painters like Claude Monet, Edgar Deas and more. The art dealer really played a large role in the movement and helped sustain the paintings by these famous painters. The exhibit will showcase masterpieces from famous artists from 1865 to 1905. You can see the paintings along with historical photos and documents.
