For the first time in three years I’ve gotten Fourth of July off! Well, not completely off, I am staying in Missouri but who could complain about celebrating Independence day right smack dab in the heart of America? My flight landed early this morning so I headed over to my hotel and took a nice little nap. My cousin Miranda and her family live in St. Louis so I will actually only be staying in the hotel for today and then I will be sleeping her basement for the rest of the trip.
Sleeping in the basement is a memory that I have from my childhood and I will always love doing it for some reason. Just curling up on the couch and watching VHS of Mary Kate and Ashley Olson were some of the fondest memories that I have as a child. This time I think I will skip the Olson twins and watch some Always Sunny in Philadelphia. But I digress.
Now I’m not cook myself as all of you know. I’d rather eat the food then slave in the kitchen all day for something that isn’t very good but I thought it would be a fun Fourth of July treat for Miranda and her family if I brought something over. I spent the rest of the morning searching through Pinterest until I found something cute and simple enough for me to make in the hotel and bring over.
These should be easy!
Just kidding, I would probably burn the pop rocks! Nope, I decided to go with these Fourth of July Kabobs. They require no cooking and I just purchased the brownies from the nearest grocery store. All in all, it only took me about an hour to put the kabobs together and now they are chilling in the mini fridge.
Speaking of the mini-fridge I think I’ve worked hard enough for the day. Time to hit the local bar before Miranda picks me up for a weekend of American Flags and patriotism.
