Now I’m not a vegetarian but when you’re in Los Angeles I feel like everybody judges you if you order a piece of meat. So I decided to try one of the veggie burger joints that I have heard so much about in Los Angeles.
So after some morning mimosas I headed over to M Cafe for a their delicious Big Macro. While some veggie burgers have a weird texture made from tofu or quinoa the Big Macro is made from brown rice and chopped vegetables. But the real star of the burger isn’t the patty at all but the delicious toppings.
I got mine covered in crisp lettuce, caramelized onions, heirloom tomatoes, alfalfa sprouts, and soy mayonnaise. All of this is served on a puffy wheat bun that I wish I could take with me.
I asked for a recipe but to no avail. Who am I kidding? I wouldn’t cook it even if I had the recipe that what’s friends and restaurants are for!
After visiting M Cafe I caught I engaged in one of my favorite activities in Los Angeles… I caught a show at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. As you already know I love watching live comedy and UCB is one of the best!
I was super excited that my flight landed on a Wednesday because I got the opportunity to catch the Facebook! show. If you’re not familiar the the basic premise is the performers will bring an audience member on stage and dissect their facebook page. Then they perform an entire set based off of their social media presence.
I’m too much of a wimp to ever volunteer but boy is it funny! Last night they had Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer performing and they were super hilarious.
It was a great way to finish up my week and I am slated to work for the next five days. Stay posted!
