Philadelphia!
Although I’ve only been to Philadelphia a handful of times, I’ve always loved coming to the City of Brotherly Love — even if it’s only for a couple of days.The weather is still pretty cold and right now it’s a little cloudy, but that won’t stop me from doing what I do best — going out and exploring everything this city has to offer.
Like Washington D.C., Philly is full of rich American history that I liked visiting my first time here, but now I’m looking into exploring some more non-tourist attractions. I always love getting to know the city I’m in; seeing where the locals go for a martini, getting a meal at a whole-in-the-wall restaurant, or going to a one-of-a-kind bar or pub.
One place I know I’m definitely going to check out is a bar called Barcade in Fishtown, Philadelphia. Not only does this bar have some of the best beers on tap, but it has wall-to-wall video arcade games from way back when. I’ve seen some pictures and it looks awesome! Some of the games they have include Dig Dug, Tron, and Galaga. Talk about a blast from the past!
Since I’m such a foodie, you better believe I’m going to check out a Philadelphia Cheesesteak restaurant. And believe me, I’m looking for a place that no one knows about. I want something super greasy and delicious. If any of my readers have suggestions please comment and let me know where you think I should go!
For now, I’m looking forward to meeting up with my long-time friend Nadine who has been living in Philadelphia now for the past four or five years. Me and Nadine were in the same class for flight attendant training and have always had a great time hanging out with each other. She’s recently divorced, too, so I’m sure tonight will be full of hanging out in some pretty fun spots! I’m excited to have a few martinis with her!

Nadine is on her way to pick me up so I better start getting ready. She always likes to get really dressed up so I know it’s probably going to take me a while to get spruced up. I might even have to try on some of the clothes I bought on my Washington D.C. trip! Very excited to check out Philly.
