After watching the Kings Playoff Game at the STAPLES Center earlier this week, I decided to spend the rest of my layover here in Los Angeles doing what I do best: Shopping!
One of the best parts of LA is that it’s one of the hottest hubs for fashion and upcoming trends in the entire United States. So, yesterday I decided to take advantage of all the wonderful boutiques here in Los Angeles.
I always try to make it out to the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica not only because they have some of my favorite shops, they also have some of THE BEST dining and all-around entertainment. When you walk down the strip of shops, there are always some really talented street performers. I ended up sitting and listening to a guitarist play for about fifteen minutes. He was a fantastic singer and really cute so I tipped him a little extra!
I ended up with a lot of awesome finds to help spruce up my summer wardrobe, including some cute bathing suits at American Apparel — I just wish that place wasn’t so darn expensive! I found some great sun dresses at Lucky and even wound up with some really cute necklaces at Zara. I’d say my shopping spree was a success!
After loading up on some really tasty sushi, I decided to head back to the hotel and set my bags down. After a quick power nap I felt rejuvenated and in need of some exercise, so I took a cab over to the Runyon Canyon Loop and started my excursion on the hot and sunny Hollywood day.
It was amazing to me how beautiful the views were, even if they were of the city and the Hollywood Sign. Los Angeles always seems to surprise me with it’s mixed beauty of both rural and city landscapes. While hiking, I ran into another flight attendant, Sarah, who was in my graduating class for flight school. We ended up hiking the rest of the loop together and catching up. It was great to see her!
Sarah ended up giving me a ride back to my hotel and, after a long hug goodbye, we parted ways.

Before I started packing up my things, I decided it was necessary to have some “me” time, so I ran a hot and bubbly bath, ordered some fruit from room service, and plugged in my iPod and started playing some Zero 7 (by far some of my favorite chill-out music).
Looking forward to getting back on the road — er, the air!
