Zoo Fun For the Whole Family

There are many different zoos you can visit in the United States, but some are better than others. Based on the location, the animals housed at the zoo and other activities they offer, there are a handful of amazing zoos to visit around the country.

San Diego Zoo

The San Diego Zoo has to be one of the best zoos in the world. It is located in Balboa Park in San Diego and has over 3,700 animals. Not only is San Diego a beautiful city to visit with ideal weather, the San Diego zoo offers a lot of fun activities and species to see. The zoo is home to three giant pandas, which are favorites among visitors. Guests can also visit the San Diego Zoo Safari park, which has rhinoceros, giraffes, zebras, tigers, lions, gorillas and more.

St. Louis Zoo

The St. Louis Zoo is one of the top attractions in St. Louis. It homes more than 600 species. Visitors can sneak a peak of the newest member of the zoo, an 850-pound polar bear. The 2.5-year-old gets to swim, play with toys and explore in his new 40,000 square foot environment. The new exhibit happens to be twice as big as the previous polar bear exhibit. The zoo also is home to a sloth bear, a grizzly bear, hyenas, hippopotamus and cheetahs.

Cincinnati Zoo

The Cincinnati Zoo is another world famous zoo that has scheduled animal demonstrations through out the day. Guests can also watch elephants and cheetahs and even feed giraffes. It is the 2nd oldest zoo in the country, opening back in 1875. The zoo has a new eight-acre Africa exhibit which homes zebras, gazelles, impalas and African lions. Visitors can also take a look at the zoo’s botanical garden, which is a great place to view 65 different plant species.
