Living the Summer Dream: Tips for Perfect Road Trip to Amalfi Coast

Amalfi Coast

The sea. the smell of lemons in the warm air of a summer afternoon. The rides between little paths of the streets, a gelato in the main square of little coastal villages. These are the main reasons why I absolute adore the Amalfi Coast! Overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Amalfi Coast is one of the 50 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Sunlit beaches, secret coves and citrus gardens, are ready to be discovered along route 163: the coastline looks like a balcony suspended between the cobalt blue sea and the slopes of the Lattari Mountains.Today I am going to show you how you can create the perfect travel experience with an adventurous and convenient road trip!

Here there are my tips to visit this amazing area of Southern Italy.

Rent a car for a stress-free road trip

Once in Naples (the nearest big city with an international airport) you have to rent a car! If you don’t know where to start, compare car hire services and save with holidayautos.co.uk! It will provide the best options to make the most of this experience! Why you have to rent a car for your trip to the Amalfi Coast? Simple! It is the easier, faster and funnier way to explore this huge area with no rush or stress! Plus, public transportation is expensive and not that good in this area so it’s the best choice to optimize your time and save a lot of money!

Travel around the world

Follow an itinerary

Start your adventure on the road between the 60 km of state bends that begins in Meta and ends in Vietrisul Mare passing through Positano, Praiano, Amalfi, Minori, Maiori and Cetara. If you have some extra time visit Ravello: located on the top of the mountain it has a unique historical center and outstanding view of the entire coast!

Stop for some outstanding view (and take some incredible pic!)

Along the way, you will never miss the sea and the coast and you will have to fight with the temptation to constantly stop at the pitches to photograph dazzling scenery, sightseeing towers on the sea, lush vegetation stretched out to the blue of the water.

Visit the little cities by the sea

Every city has its own historical center with churches, picturesque square and streets and other unique attractions you just have to explore! Don’t forget to step by the or , Why not, to take a look at the typical kiosks scattered along the way, those who exhibit the typical yellow lemons and the flaming chili peppers collected inbeautiful choreographic banners.

Eat something local

Try some ice-cream, the mozzarella cheese, some limoncello and, of course, pizza! You have plenty of options to appreciate the culinary culture of this region. Be sure to try some seafood and wine too!

Bring your sunnies and a bathing suit!

Of course, you have to chill out and appreciate the wonderful seaside! During your road trip you won’t resist to those crystal-clear waters and those hidden magical bays!
