Knott’s Berry Farm in California has officially transformed into Knott’s Scary Farm. There are so many scary things around every corner including 11 haunted attractions and over 1,000 monsters. Three scare zones make up the event and the entire area is covered in fog.
A lot of mazes have returned this year and all of them have new attractions. Guests will be able to venture through mazes like Forevermore, Black Magic, Trick or Treat, The Tooth Fairy, Voodoo, Pinocchio Unstrung, Gunslinger’s Grave, The Calico Mine Ride and three new mazes, The Dead of Winter, My Bloody Clementine and Paranormal Inc.
This is the fourth year for the Forevermore maze. It is based on Edgar Allen Poe’s creepy stories. Gus Krueger designed the maze and it seems like there are more blind spots than ever, plus the passageways seem a lot smaller. These changes definitely add on to the scare factor. Guests try to find their way through the crazy maze while avoiding a serial killer who is on the loose.
The new maze, Paranormal Inc, might be the best maze of them all. It takes place in a haunted insane asylum and follows an intriguing storyline. There is so much detail throughout the whole maze and it might be one of the best attractions Knott’s has done in a very long time. It really is an experience and makes you feel like you are really in a haunted asylum. At the beginning of the maze, they even tell guests that the amount of electric energy released will cause you to not know the difference between the real world and terrifying realms.
Of course Knott’s Scary Farm offers other fun stuff if you need a break from their spooky attractions. There are two new live stage shows this year that are both extremely funny. But if you do not have enough guts to go this year, there is always next year. Just remember, each year gets scarier at Knott’s Scary Farm.
