Power & Light District in Kansas City

The Power & Light District is a shopping and entertainment area in the heart of downtown Kansas City. The district offers over 50 shops, restaurants and bars in an eight-block neighborhood. Since it is located downtown, there is always something to do and there is always a ton of people.

During the day, guests can walk around and take in the beauty of downtown Kansas City while shopping at numerous places in the district. There are hair salons, nail salons, a jewelry store, a fitness center and spas.

The Power and Light District often referred to, as P&L is located right in the middle of everything, so there is always a lot of traffic. It is one of the few places in the country where you can have open containers of alcoholic beverages on the street. Just remember, this is prohibited in the rest of the city. There is also a number of hotels nearby, which is very convenient.

The Sprint Center is just west of the Power and Light District, where there are a lot of great concerts. But there are also some terrific concerts at the district. The Kansas City Live! is a covered outdoor area where you can always catch a rocking concert.
