Entertainment at the Waste Management Open

The Waste Management Open has been aptly dubbed the rowdiest golf tournament in the world. For one week at the end of January, golf’s biggest superstars will descend on Scottsdale to battle for a PGA title. Athletes aren’t the only celebrities who show up for the WMO, the event also offers performances by some of music biggest acts in 2013.  Here is the entertainment at the Waste Management Open.

O.A.R.: Wednesday, January 29th

The 90’s alternative rock group is back in all their nostalgic glory for one night in Scottsdale. O.A.R. is known for their smash hits like “Black Rock” and “That Was a Crazy Game of Poker”. O.A.R. blends rock n’ roll style with reggae rhythms, they hit mainstream success in the mid-2000’s with their track Lay Down which was featured in just about every teen comedy around.

You can catch O.A.R. at 3:30 p.m. at the Bird’s Nest Lounge where you can enjoy a beer after the events of the day.

Jake Owen: Thursday, January 30th

The country music heart throb is the second musician to take the stage at the Bird’s Nest Lounge in Scottsdale. Jake Owen rose to prominence in 2006 with his Nashville country and soul records. His first release Startin’ With Me featured the cowboy anthem “Yee Haw” which can be heard at honky tonks all across the nation.

Jake Owen can be seen at 3:30 pm at the Bird’s Nest Lounge. Bring your cowboy boots!

Weezer: Friday, January 31st

weezer

One of my favorite bands from yesteryear, Weezer has been churning out albums like gangbusters since their first release in 1994 debut record The Blue Album. Weezer has had several hits since they rocked our socks off with Buddy Holly. Fan favorites include “Hash Pipe”, “Beverly Hills”, and “Pork & Beans”.

Catch River Cuomo and the whole gang 3:30 p.m. at the Bird’s Nest Lounge.
